Founded in 2023 by Alicja Kubicka and Borja Martínez, Interplay is an architectural firm with a clear inter- national outlook. The architects prioritize a deep and sincere analysis of their clients’ and projects’ needs, seeking to explore new expressions and facets of construction materials through a sensitive and creative use of them. The firm believes that quality architecture is the result of understanding the complex interplay between various components and systems.

Alicja Kubicka obtained her architectural diploma from Poznan University of Technology after completing two exchange programs in ETSA in Madrid and La Coruña. She has gained valuable experience working at renowned architecture firms such as Kengo Kuma and Wilmotte et Associés. Throughout her career she played essential role in big-scale project development and construction site supervision such Hotel T5B and the recently opened Exhibition Center in Strasbourg. She believes that through close collaboration with experts from various fields, architects can create resilient, long-term solutions that enhance the quality of life for both people and the environment. Alicja’s strong creative skills bring a unique and sensitive approach to architectural projects, resulting in aesthetically pleasing and original designs.

Borja Martínez obtained his architecture diploma at ETSASS in San Sebastián, after completing an ex- change program at ETSA in Madrid. Throughout his professional experience in the renowned Japanese firm Kengo Kuma, he has played an essential role in international projects such as the New Hans Christian Andersen Museum in Odense, Docteur Leila Mezian Museum in Casablanca, and the Luxury Hotel of La Pointe du Bout in Martinique, coordinating multidisciplinary teams. He currently combines his activity with the development of public competitions for educational and sports equipment in collaboration with Archi5. With a strong technical background, he holds a firm belief that a meticulously crafted detail has the power to unveil the very soul of a project.
