Alicja Kubicka, co-founder of Interplay Architects, has been named a winner of Europe 40 Under 40 2026, joining the annual group of forty architects and designers recognised as some of the most promising emerging talents in Europe. The award acknowledges her architectural work, including the Poland Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka and the Health Tech Synergy Hub in Wrocław.

Alicja Kubicka gave an open lecture titled Architecture of Dialogue – Poland Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka at the Faculty of Architecture of Poznań University of Technology. The lecture explored the design process behind the pavilion and architecture as a dialogue between cultures, disciplines and contexts.
At the Manggha Museum in Kraków, a public talk titled “Heritage that Drives the Future” brought together the teams behind the Polish participation at Expo 2025 Osaka. Alicja Kubicka, co-author of the Poland Pavilion’s architecture, and Monika Brauntsch, co-creator of its interior exhibition, shared insights on the dialogue between architecture, design, and storytelling.
October 2025During the BIE Day Awards Ceremony at Expo 2025 Osaka, the exhibition hosted inside the Poland Pavilion — curated and designed by KAFTI, GDYBY, and Wiesław Bartkowski — received the Gold Official Participant Award for Exhibition Design (self-built, Type A – smaller than 1,500 m²). Interplay Architects are proud that the exhibition, conceived in close dialogue with the pavilion’s architecture, has been recognised with the highest distinction for its design and narrative coherence.
At the World Expolympics Awards hosted at Expo 2025 Osaka, the Poland Pavilion by Interplay Architects was honoured with Bronze for Best Medium Pavilion and Silver for Best Exhibition / Display (Plantation of Ideas installation by KAFTI, GDYBY, Wiesław Bartkowski and team). We are deeply proud that the interplay between architecture and exhibition content was recognised on an international scale. These awards affirm the strength of collaborative storytelling and the synergy between pavilion and narration.
Borja Martínez has been selected as a finalist in the Premio Peña Ganchegui 2025, which recognises emerging practices contributing to Basque architecture. The finalists’ work will be exhibited at the EAI / Instituto de Arquitectura de Euskadi as part of the Bienal Mugak/.
The June issue of Casa Brutus (No. 302) is dedicated to Expo 2025 Osaka, featuring the Poland Pavilion by Interplay Architects among the selected national pavilions showcased in the special edition.
